Discovery Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce its support of the Animal Rescue League (ARL) of Berks County with a donation drive and a special adoption day event scheduled for Friday, March 21. This initiative is part of the credit union’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community while giving back to an organization that’s close to the hearts of Discovery employees.
The donation drive will begin immediately, with Discovery Federal Credit Union encouraging its members, employees, and the community to contribute basic supplies needed by the ARL. These everyday items help keep a safe, clean environment for the animals in the shelter. Items on the ARL’s Wishlist include:
- Paper towels
- Bleach
- Liquid laundry detergent
- Tissues
- Dish soap
- Yellow, pink, blue highlighters
- Pens (black and blue ink)
- Vinyl gloves
- Sticky notes
- 8.5 x 11 copy paper
- Toilet paper
- Masking tape
- 17″ x 24″ pee pads
- Dye-free soft dog treats
- Purina kitten chow
- Fancy Feast kitten canned food (chicken or turkey)
In addition to the donation drive, Discovery Federal Credit Union is excited to sponsor an Adoption Day on Friday, March 21, giving community members the chance to meet and adopt animals from the ARL. This event, which will be held at the ARL in Birdsboro, offers a wonderful opportunity for families and individuals to bring home a new furry friend while supporting the ARL’s ongoing mission to rescue, care for, and find forever homes for pets in need.

Each year, the credit union holds a vote among employees to determine which charitable organization will receive support for the year.
