Wyomissing, PA – Discovery Federal Credit Union proudly announced a $2,000 donation to the Berks County Veterans Temporary Assistance Program, managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs. This critical program is dedicated to helping local veterans in Berks County who have fallen on hard times by providing immediate financial assistance to prevent homelessness and address urgent needs such as food, transportation, and housing stability.
The Berks County Veterans Temporary Assistance Program exclusively serves veterans within Berks County. All funds remain within the local community, with no administrative fees or fund maintenance costs, ensuring every dollar directly benefits those who need it most. By addressing emergency situations with swift action, the program serves as a vital lifeline for local veterans.
Jennifer Merkel, Discovery Federal Credit Union Branch Manager, presented the $2,000 donation to Lt. Col. Jay Ostrich, USAF, Director of the Berks County VA, and CW2 Will E. Tobin, US Army (Ret), Deputy Director of the Berks County VA. The contribution reflects Discovery Federal Credit Union’s strong commitment to supporting veterans and strengthening the community.
