We are seeking an experienced and skilled attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This role is available in either our Richmond, Virginia office or our corporate headquarters in Bonita Springs, Florida, and offers the opportunity to engage in a broad spectrum of legal responsibilities.

Job Description:
The position will handle a wide range of legal responsibilities as assigned focusing upon the drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing the legal contracts across the TRAKAmerica family of companies. The successful candidate will be proficient in ensuring the contracts are legally sound, align with business objectives, and appropriately mitigate risk for the organization. Other duties may include reviewing legacy contracts to identify potential risk areas as well as providing counsel to the business on regulatory, statutory or other changes that may affect TRAKAmerica or its clients.
Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:
• Drafting new contracts that support the needs of the TRAKAmerica family of companies
• Analyzing existing contracts for potential risk issues and compliance to existing laws or terms
• Representing TRAKAmerica in contract negotiations with counterparties
• Providing legal counsel on contract matters
• Assisting in resolution of any contractual disputes
• Ensuring existing contracts adhere to relevant laws and reunification
• Ensuring business operations understands key terms to manage compliance to the contractual terms
• Maintaing a system for tracking and managing contracts and their relevant terms in a simplified way to support the business operations
• Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant contract and industry issues
• Developing the organization’s policies on industry-specific issues, corporate governance and other regulatory affairs
• Other tasks as assigned

Physical demands: The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 75% of the time as well as the ability to move about the office occasionally (accessing files/storage, office equipment, attend meetings, etc.). Using a computer while sitting for extended periods is common. Occasional exertion of 10 – 20 lbs. of force (e.g. picking up / carrying folders, binders, books, laptops) may be required. Good manual dexterity required to use common office equipment (e.g. computers, copiers, mobile devices). Ability to travel, if required.
Work environment: The job is typically performed indoors in a traditional office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

• Should have an ability to work effectively with a diverse level of business and legal personnel and be able to develop and maintain strong relationships within the organization
• Should possess excellent analytical ability and should be a team player. If required, should be able to work independently without supervision.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and/or compliance requirements and an ability to apply them in a way that is reflective of the business need that also ensures compliant activities.
• Provide support for special projects and perform other duties as assigned
• High level of integrity, discretion and judgment
Qualifications Required:
• Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
• Minimum three years of legal experience
• Prior experience working in the debt collection industry for a law firm, collection agency, debt buyer, creditor or legal network supplier is a plus
