Feeding America Riverside San Bernardino recently received $25,000 from Bank of America.

On July 11, Bank of America announced the recipients of its first round of grants for the year. The organization awarded $435,000 to 22 local nonprofits across the Inland Empire, providing workforce development, health resources and other basic needs to individuals and families.

Coachella Valley recipients included the College of the Desert Foundation, DAP Health, FIND Food Bank,the Galilee Center, Martha’s Village & Kitchen and One Future Coachella Valley.

Since 2019, Bank of America has provided $9.4 million to Inland Empire nonprofits, which is part of the bank’s longstanding commitment to supporting economic opportunity for diverse communities. In addition, employee volunteerism continues to be an important and valuable contribution to local nonprofits with Inland Empire employees logging more than 82,000 volunteer hours since 2019.

“Partnering with impactful local organizations to address important issues like youth workforce development, pathways to employment and health is part of our commitment to creating real change in the Inland Empire,” said Bansree Parikh, Bank of America Inland Empire’s president. “Investing in nonprofits helps provide the resources and support needed to help build thriving communities long-term.”

The philanthropic strategy at Bank of America, according to its website, is guided by a common purpose to help make financial lives better. Part of this work is to develop strong partnerships with nonprofit organizations focused on issues fundamental to economic mobility in low- and moderate-income communities. Through its partnerships, the bank supports vulnerable populations, including working families, youth, seniors, individuals living with disabilities, veterans and those impacted by the criminal justice system — helping them to move forward in their goals.
